To find the area of a triangle you need the base and the height. This formula works for any type of triangle.

Area Formula

The area of any triangle is found by multiplying the base by the height and dividing by 2:

Triangle area formula: A = (b × h) / 2

What Is the Height of a Triangle?

The height is the perpendicular distance from a vertex to the opposite side (the base). In a right triangle, the height may be one of the legs.
