There is a beautiful building in Estonia called the Okta Centrum. It is a stunning piece of architecture in the shape of an octagon. It was built in 1977, when Estonia was part of the Soviet Union, and people came from across the region to admire it.

If you look closely at the building, you will find octagons everywhere. There is an artificial lake shaped like an octagon in front of the building, and 8 terraced levels around it. As a fun fact, many things inside the building are octagonal — even the trash cans!
The Okta Centrum shows how geometry can leave the page and become a real living space. Its creators, Toomas Rein and Aulo Padar, proved that the octagon is not just mathematically elegant — it is architecturally powerful too.
